Foursquare announced the appointment of Gina Loften to its Board of Directors, effective February 10, 2021. Loften joins the Board as one of tech’s most tenured and trusted business leaders, built on decades of success at IBM and currently in her role as Microsoft US’s CTO. As a Foursquare Board member, Loften will work closely with Foursquare’s Executive Team to deliver on the Company’s promise as the most trusted, independent location technology company and further foster the company’s momentum as the location software layer of every business’s tech stack.
Loften’s appointment follows a series of recent milestones that propel Foursquare’s vision of Foursquare Everywhere to the fore. In addition to Foursquare’s recent rebrand, and the executive appointments of CEO Gary Little and SVP of Marketing Michele Morelli, Loften ushers in a fresh perspective toward technical innovation and a strong commitment toward diversity, equity and inclusion to build dynamic cultures and organizations.
“Foursquare has experienced one of the more fascinating and ambitious journeys as a technology company, and continues pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with location technology, as it has throughout its storied history,” said Loften. “I look forward to helping Foursquare reach its ambitions as the leading location technology and data platform by offering my decades of technical experience working with global enterprises and building customer centric solutions that inspire innovation.”
“Gina is a deeply respected tech veteran and executive who has made a major impact creating and delivering the most advanced digital business transformations at the world’s most celebrated technology companies,” said Gary Little, President, CEO and Board member of Foursquare. “We are thrilled to have her join the Board and provide her counsel and unique perspectives to drive Foursquare’s technological advancements forward. Gina’s appointment marks another exciting step in driving Foursquare’s next phase of growth.”
