We’re proud to announce that Foursquare Places API has won a 2022 API Award in the Best in Enterprise APIs category!
The 2022 API Awards celebrate innovation, adoption, and reception by the developer community and across the API & microservices industry. This is the second year in a row that Foursquare Places API has received this honor.
Foursquare Places API has changed how consumers interact with businesses and their locations by delivering the high-quality location data clients need with unmatched reliability, flexibility, and affordability. It offers real-time access to Foursquare’s global database, consisting of millions of continually updated and verified points of interest (POIs) all within an app or website, as well as user-generated content to power location-based experiences.
Since its relaunch last year, we’ve improved the developer experience around our API to create a delivery method that can meet enterprise standards, upgrade the developer experience, and enable great location-aware apps – all by simplifying current endpoints and releasing documentation with an updated explorer tool.
Hundreds of nominations were submitted, and Foursquare Places API was chosen on three criteria:
- Attracting notable attention and awareness in the API industry
- General regard and use by the developer and engineering community
- Being a technical leader in its sector for innovation
The 2022 API Awards will be presented at API World 2022. The event (Oct 25-27, San Jose, CA & Nov 1-3, Virtually) is the world’s largest API and microservices conference and expo. Ankit Patel, SVP of Engineering, will deliver a keynote centered on Breaking Down Monoliths on Oct. 27 at 1:30pm PT and virtually on Nov. 3 at 1:30pm PT.
